Social Media

I don't claim to be an expert on social media, it's really not my thing; but I've thrown together content with great information or a skill and lousy production values and still managed to get thousands of views. This is not meant to be a definitive guide, but social media has such broad ability to bring attention to a business (sometimes at no cost) that it would be foolish to ignore it.

Roblox

This one caught me off guard, the first explanation made no sense; someone who I thought highly of said you can make millions on Roblox but didn't have much of an explanation as to how and why. I saw a magazine on Roblox, but it didn't explain it very well and the aesthetics of the games aren't appealing to me (the only thing that hasn't changed yet.) The video below put it great: Roblox is the youtube of video games (ie anyone can create video games on the platform, though I don't know if that means they're easier to make or how easy it is to get them viewed) and you make money either via in app purchases or brand deals. Half of the population 16 and under is using Roblox, they've increased popularity among females with a game that they try on clothes, they tend to use it twice as much as Tiktok (those using Roblox are going on Tiktok to find more stuff to do on Roblox.) So, if you make a game on Roblox, get brand deals for inside the game that pay you real dollars, have things to purchase inside the game that you get ro-bucks for (which convert to real dollars), you promote your game in Tiktok, you could make some serious money. Below is the video I saw that finally explained it well enough that I could understand it.

Youtube

If you have valuable content (either entertaining or informing people on something they'll search for generally) then you should have some success on youtube. This can increase with good production values, good title, thumbnail & editing. If you script it in a manner that increases retention, that can lead to dramatic increases in traction. Youtube wants your typical viewer to click, watch all the way through, then click on one of your videos linked within the video; if they do that then they'll show it to more people similar to that.

Google SEO

Marketing through Google SEO focuses on optimizing your website to rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs). This involves strategic keyword research, creating high-quality and relevant content, optimizing page load speeds, and earning authoritative backlinks. A strong SEO strategy increases organic traffic, builds credibility with your audience, and generates long-term, sustainable growth without ongoing ad spend. Consistent updates and aligning with Google's evolving algorithms are key to maintaining and improving rankings.

Instagram

Instagram marketing leverages visually appealing content such as photos, reels, and stories to build brand awareness and drive engagement. Successful strategies often include maintaining a cohesive visual style, using targeted hashtags, collaborating with influencers, and consistently interacting with followers through comments and direct messages. Instagram's algorithm rewards active, high-quality engagement, making it essential to post regularly and create content that encourages shares and saves. Paid promotions and shopping features also offer direct sales opportunities within the platform.

TikTok

TikTok marketing thrives on short-form, authentic, and highly engaging video content that taps into trends, challenges, and viral sounds. Brands can gain massive exposure by creating entertaining or educational videos that resonate with their target audience. TikTok’s algorithm favors creativity, high watch time, and audience interaction, offering opportunities for even small accounts to go viral. In addition to organic content, brands can use TikTok Ads, collaborate with popular creators, and leverage hashtag challenges to expand their reach and build a community.
